Take a springtime walk through the Huntington Gardens and pop in to see these collage-based paintings by Nigerian born Los Angeles artist Njideka Akunyili Crosby, curated by Pulitzer Prize–winning author and New Yorker magazine critic Hilton Als. Selected from the artist’s series, The Beautyful Ones, referencing a classic 1968 novel, The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born, by Ghanaian author Ayi Kwei Armah, the works are portraits of Nigerian children.
