This DTLA offshoot of Chris Bianco’s Phoenix Pizzeria group largely mirrors the original menu, featuring six signature pies like the Rosa (salty parmesan, rosemary, crushed pistachios and almost caramelized red onions) and Sonny Boy (smoky soppressata and salty cured olives). Chewy yeasty thin crust. Focaccia sandwiches and salads for lunch. Wood-burning stove. Worth the wait.
Superfine Pizza | DTLA
Located in City Market South, a selection of 10 tasty pizzas with a thin crust that’s crispy and fresh with topping combinations conjured from outside the box… spicy honey or es-ca-role, if you please? Casual setting.
De La Nonna | Arts District, DTLA
Sicilian soul food that would make a grandmother proud. Crispy crust, topped with fresh-from-the-farm ingredients. Dance between slices to weekend DJs on a fun welcoming patio. Reservations generally not needed.
Prince Street Pizza | Arts District, DTLA
This New York City transplant is a takeaway shop best known for its pepperoni laden square slice pizza. Simple menu of sodas and slices. Feeling reckless? Try the Naughty pie: Spicy vodka sauce, spicy pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, ricotta plus honey. More locations in Venice, West LA and WeHo.
Bagel + Slice | Highland Park
Bagels and pizzas hand-crafted with heritage seasonal regenerative wheat, and a focus on sustainable organic ingredients. Try a bagel sandwich or the hybrid special: bagel pizza!
