Join in the public celebration of the newly transformed and expanded Hammer Museum featuring new street-level exhibition spaces, a new 5,600-square-foot street-facing gallery and outdoor sculpture terrace, along with the opening of an exhibition from the Hammer’s contemporary collection. Installations by Chiharu Shiota, Rita McBride and Sanford Biggers, and a Retrospective Survey of the Drawings of Bridget Riley also on view. From 11am - 6pm. Free.

If you happen to visit Santa Barbara in the next year… Pictographic maps created using hand-processed mineral and organic pigments from the Americas, chronicle 200 years of uprisings in Central California, from the 1824 Chumash Revolt to the present.
